SIP Telephony
SIP (or Session Initiation Protocol) is a technology designed to allow voice and video calls across data networks. As such, it is the primary technology in use to allow telephone calls via an internet connection, removing the need for a fixed line.
By utilising this protocol, our handsets are able to work as long as you have an active internet connection. This means you can have a standard landline number – including keeping a number you already have – without any ties to a fixed line.
We can provide many kinds of handsets, ranging from office style corded desk phones, to DECT based cordless handsets similar to those many people already use in their homes. Additionally, you can even use software on your smartphone to act as a handset – allowing you to take calls as long as you phone has a data connection!
Advantages:
- Enables you to keep your landline number if you no longer require a fixed line.
- Works well on any internet connection, even those with limited bandwidth, due to the small amount of data used.
- Replaces a standard home phone, while keeping the same look, feel, and functionality.
- Use your existing smart phone as a handset, and take calls anywhere (as long as you have a data connection).
- Various options and packages available, please contact us for more details.
